  • Life of a Entrepreneuer
living life on the edge from a economic stand point

Would you consider it cool to work for yourself or be your own boss?  I find it rather appealing since I’ve grown up in this atmosphere but at the same time there are advantages and disadvantages for having your own business.  There are multiple routes to take in this world we live in terms of job or careers.  There are jobs where you work for the boss and put your 9 to 5 with good benefits or there are high risk jobs that can reap high rewards if successful with little to no health/medical/etc benefits.  Now keep in mind there are a lot of other variables, advantages and disadvantages that I am leaving out here.  If I were to address everyone of them we would be here for a while and by the time you were at this point of reading this entry you would probably exit my web page out of boredom.  So here are a few highlights of entering the market as in entrepreneur; you might be a huge RISK taker or you might be on the other hand a high ADVERSE risk taker.  I like the RISK part, ha ha…but then part of me likes benefits too! =)  Hey, I need to have my dental and medical coverage from someone fool!  =)

    Pros

Excitement: Due to its high capacity for risk, there is a lot of adventure.

Rules and regulations: Work in a current job is difficult to do because of all the “red tape” and consistent administration approval needed.

Originality: Some people feel that they can offer a new service/product that no one else has offered before.

Competition: Employees feel they can offer their current company’s product/service at a lesser expense to the public.

Independence: Some people wish to be their own boss and make all the important decisions him/herself.

Salary potential: Generally, people want to be paid for the amount of work they do in full; they do not want to be “short-changed.”

Flexibility: Entrepreneurs can schedule their work hours to spend quality time with family or any other reason.

    Rational salary:
They are not being paid what they’re worth and would rather work on
their own and earn the money they should be earning for their efforts.

Freedom: Entrepreneurs can work whenever they want, wherever they want, and however they want.

    Cons

Salary: Starting your own business means that you must be willing to give up the security of a regular paycheck.

Benefits: There will undoubtedly be fewer benefits, especially when considering that your business will be just starting off.

    Work schedule:
The work schedule of an entrepreneur is never predictable; an emergency
can come up in a matter of a second and late hours will have to be put
    in.

Administration: All the decisions of the business
must be made on your own; there is no one ranked higher than you on the
chain of command in YOUR business.

    Incompetent staff:
Often times, you will find yourself working with an employee who
“doesn’t know the ropes” as well as you do due to lack of experience.

    Procedures:
Many times during your entrepreneurial life, you will find that many
policies do not make sense, nor will they ever make sense.

Ok, now we have covered briefly a basis for both sides of the equation here.  Now its up to you if you want to take that plunge!  So the other night I was talking to Jax (you rock girl!) about how I would like to go to a chill kick back Jazz/Acid Jazz/Jazz Hip hop lounge where they just play awesome music or have live performers around a atmosphere that is completely chill with ambient light colors setting a mood for the music and social scene for an evening.  A place where you can buy drinks, enjoy some chill music, enjoy the company of friends and just have a good time. Jax suggested we look to opening one!  I laughed but thought to myself for a moment about how cool that would be since there are no kick back lounges in all of the Greater Sacramento area.  Interesting, yes indeed!  (gears rolling in the head).  Maybe its time to post pone saving up for a house and other such things and say hello to Mr. Capital, hahaha….Yeah Right!  Now…a name for this place would be cool….hmmm….hahhaha, j/k.  Sorry, 21 and above ONLY! hahahaha!

  • Oi Kimchi

And yes I made this myself and I think its the most legit one I’ve made so far.  I will get better at this and hopefully I will be able to carry on my grandma’s Korean recipes!

  • Global Night Commute

Ever stop to think about some of your past childhood memories and the joy of what it was like to be a child again.  The thought of not having a care or worry in this world we live in.  From time to time we recall those glorious days.  However, for many Northern Uganda children their only childhood memory will be them being snatched away from the ones they love and forced to fight a war they do not understand.  Little boys and girls GI Joes and Barbies are replaced with an AK-47 and they are told/brainwashed to kill those who oppose them even their own families.  What kind of childhood is that?  I’ll tell you it no childhood at all!  Where is thy goodness O Lord?  Where is the justice you seek after O Lord?  Is there sunshine where the rain clouds never seem to go away?  “To know is to love…to love is to Act.”  For the act of justice and freedom!

One might ask what can someone like me do for these children?  I am only one person.  I don’t know the answer to that question but I do know that we can pray.  We can Act for the name of justice and refuse ignorance.  Ultimately we know The Lord is just and faithful and that Injustice does not have a final say.  The will to Act…Spread the word!  Save the Invisible Children!  The time is now to make them VISIBLE CHILDREN!

“A bruised reed he will not break, and a
smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice.
he will not falter or be discouraged till he
    establishes justice on earth.
In his law the islands will put their hope.”
