Canon EOS 350D Rebel XT
So I have decided to join the Canon family! It has been a tough decision with extensive amounts of research and I have finally decided on the XT. So far it’s an awesome camera but I have so much to learn. Right now I know I’m not using the camera correctly nor am I able to optimize my settings. It amazes me to see how awesome some peoples photography skills are. It can be rather difficult and somewhat overwhelming at first if you are a first time DSLR user like myself. At the same time it’s very exciting because this is my first DSLR ever and I hope to learn as much as I can! Thank you all for aiding in my decision making! Here is a sample photo I took, it’s not very good but just a quick attempt/test runs. In my opinion I like the photo I took but it looks like a point and shoot camera could come out with the same pic =) Anyway’s, I have a lot to learn! Here is my poor attempt at the XT!

great….i joined Canon family recently too…^.^
yay. finally a decision! =]
We all have tough times from our poor dslrs. In the long run you’ll figure out that canon has really soft lenses. Yes, even their L lenses. I’ve used both. and thats how i know =D Best wishes. I recomend getting the Sigma 18-50mm, tamron 28-75, or Tokina 28-70mm f/2.8 ATX pro. Very nice lenses all of them. Its sad that you could’ve joined nikon, owell. Have fun with your dslr and click away my friend.
great composition steve. Just some critique if you don’t mind. to me the trees in the background is a lil distracting. I would’ve taken it from a sky angle looking down or simply just from the ground angle looking toward the sky. but you learn all that in time. good luck!
congrats on the XT, you can’t go wrong.
Cool camera. You’ll be the next junshien! post pretty pictures plz
sorry i didn’t pick up yesterday, it wasn’t because i was at work, its b/c i was in break room, i would hecka pick up the phone at work. its pretty chill.

canons are awesome XD
haha yar pretty pictures! :sunny:
hey i’m glad to help you out steve so don’t sweat it. oh and there are no stupid questions so ask awayyyyy. eheh ok enough with that.
on to my respoonse: when it comes to megapixels, the higher the mp the bigger you can print your pictures w/o it looking all pixelated. I always either set my resolution to fine or raw. Fine/raw is i believe the best quality it can produce due to it’s higher resolution compared to normal. Bottom line is: Fine has a higher resolution than normal. Higher resolution produce higher quality pics. Does that make sense to you? I always shoot in Fine, large or raw. But i rarely use raw b/c of it’s larger file. It takes a long time for me to edit raw files than fine. Hope this helps!!!
come back if you have any questions man!!
