  • The Singing Christmas Tree
    Family Weekend Event

This past weekend some of my family and I went to the 50th Annual Singing Christmas Tree Musical.  It’s been a family tradition every Christmas season.  I must say every year they never fail to amaze me with their creativity, color schemes and themes.  Sorry I don’t have a closer shot of the actual tree but the choir is actually all in the tree.  Pretty cool eh?  That’s why its called the Singing Christmas Tree, Duh!!! hahahah.  I miss choir!  One thing I do wish I had done in college was join the Gospel Choir but practice was always at a very conflicting time.  =(  Never too late to join a church choir! =)

I was reading a fellow xangastas post today and it really got me thinking about the meaning of Christmas.  I want to survey people on the street with a video camera and mic and ask what Christmas means to them?  I really do wonder what people might say?  I could think of a number of responses already: Presents, Family, Friends, Santa Clause, Giving to others, etc.  These are all good things but I can count on it that Jesus might not be our first response!  I am guilty as charged.  When you are surrounded in a capital market, buy and selling and Christmas that Christmas this it’s really easy to lose focus of the reason for the season.  Jesus is the real reason why we celebrate this season.  Our existence is sustain because of Him.  I know not everyone who will read this might agree but for me He is what keeps me going.  There is no greater gift to mankind.  I would really like to go back in time and be there when Jesus was born.  I really wonder what went through Mary’s and Joseph’s mind.  I would like to see it for my own eyes but maybe one day we I get HOME, He will be able to tell me the story just how it was in full detail! =)  What does Christmas mean to you?

  • What a sweet family picture! Is it because of the time of year or does your family get to be together alot? Very cool!

I had to go back and look at that tree again!!! I was amazed that it contained people!! I have never seen anything like that!

I was thinking about the movie we just saw that kinda addresses that thought you had about being back there in time to know and see what Mary and Joesph went through and I wanted to share that we went to see THE NATIVITY which is out in the theatres now. I thought it was beautiful. If you saw WhaleRider you will recognize the girl who plays Mary as the girl lead in that movie. I heard that they found this girl for the movie right there in New Zealand and she had no acting experience!
