  • -Just Believe Photography-

My search for a name is still at hand.  Stephen Anthony Photography is still not set as stone yet until I really run out of marketable ideas for a name.  So what do you guys think about “Just Believe Photography?”  I’ve check multiple sources to make sure no one else has it and so far it seems like I’m clear but I’ll have to check more indepth if I decide to go permanent with this name or any of my names.  If you comment about my name please give me some honest feedback and don’t just say I don’t like it because that doesn’t help.  Some constructive criticism is welcomed.  This is just a beta for this name so I’m not sure if I’m going to stick with it myself.  Just a testing ground for my photo work.  Here is a list of other names I’ve thought of..

    1. Endless Photography

    2. Eternal Light Photo

    3. Dream Drifter Photo

    4. And of course…Just Believe Photography

Now maybe I shouldn’t post these names since someone else might come across it and use it but o well.  For some reason I love the ring of Dream Drifter Photo for some reason because it sounds interesting.  =)  If anyone of you have any further detail comments or recommendations please message me as well.

So I’m excited, I leave for Indianapolis this Thursday in search of colder weather haha.  Yay me, I hate cold weather but o well anything for my buddy Nathan.  It will be an exciting time and I can’t wait to meet his bride to be.  And nope I wont be a wedding photographer there and neither will Junshien hehe.  I’m sure well both bring our cameras but were both in the wedding party so we wont have the photographers perspective here! =)

On another note, I was reading the story of Esther in the bible about God fulfilling her God-given destiny and it didn’t occur to me how powerful this story really is.  To make a long story short, Esther was a Jewess captive in Persia…later crowned queen of Persia…Haman a evil leader plotted to destroy the Jewish people living in Persia.  Esther responded in Faith while discovering her God Given Destiny to bring Salvation for the Jewish people.  It amazes me what ONE risky step of faith can do.  It can save a nation.  And it occurred to me that it really takes GUTS to walk in our destiny.  Esther’s life was at risk for all her people and her decision to rely on the power of God accomplished great things.  Esther’s story reminded me that “Greater is HE in me than any other in the world.”  Profound?  I’ll say!  With God anything is possibly!  Great story, I encourage you to read it sometime!

    Cheers,
    Steve

  • dang nice picture!
I like Stephen Anthony for something more serious, concrete, and trustworthy…I like dream drifters for something more creative and exciting but probably not as marketable
ye yeah for Esther! =D I can’t help being an inspiration

  • i like just believe over dream drifter, i think about cars when i hear drifter in the name. but anyways, how have you been checking the patents and availability on names for your business? i need to check out a few names myself

  • Just Believe is Awesome!!!   I think pictures when I hear that name.  For wedding pictures I think of lives unfolding and starting anew, for nature I think of God and how if you “Just Believe” with Him all is possible, with family and children oh man this name captivates so much- babies wrapping their tiny fingers around yours.  People will take you seriously.  You will be photographing the best moments, the light hearted moments, the funny ones, and everything inbetween- I would hire you with the name ”Just Believe” because I would remember how special the name was. Stephen Anthony, whatever you capture… “Just Believe” captures it.  You can still use your initials, something like ~SA~ with Just Believe.  I love this and the photo is awesome too.  I love the story of Esther; it is amazing to think of how many times in the Bible stories are close to salvation.  Is Cherished Photography taken?  (I still like “Just Believe”) Probably so, because I am not as creative as you.  God Bless you my friend!!!

  • :sunny: beautiful photo. i like the second name.

  • steve, if you decide to choose a name other than your personal name, i really like “just believe photography” because it’s very descriptive, attractive, memorable, and not typical. when i see it on this photo, it makes me think about the content of the photo in relation to the name. if i may say so, there’s something spiritual about seeing this name along with the skies, the sun, the heavens! i can imagine how powerful it would be on all kinds of photos…wedding, engagement, landscape, portrait, product, and so on.

  • Take a photography term and mix it wit ur name…

For example… My name that I’m going to use is ” Joe Bokeh”

Joe, of course is my name.. And bokeh is the quality of the blur in the background of a photo…

  • Take a photography term… And mix it with ur name… For instance, the name I plan to use when I go public is “Joe Bokeh”

Joe of course is my name…

And bokeh is the blur in a photograph at wider apertures…(Like in portraits)

And so when its mixed, it kinda like saying not jus any bokeh, but joes bokeh…

  • Yea u can delete the other post… I dunno what’s goin on here….

  • Thanks for the comments on my site.

I personally think that your name should be what you use. I think it’s more professional. People like the idea that photography is personal to the photographer. Just like a painting is to an artist.

Thanks my 2 cents worth anyway.

  • i still like your last name. even though you can’t pronounce it (or many don’t know how) it is still like initials and it is “signature”.

ryc: the image on the bottom is an array of fish and seafood. i don’t even know what it all was but it was completely amazing! :)

  • Wahhh.. the nikon d70s.
for some reason, i like to manually focus on that camera.
it must be from using film too much. =]

  • i like how you started using words in the beginning of the alphabet
    :goodjob:

  • Hey…here’s a thought. How about just using the word “Believe” or “Belief” photography. So its a straight-shot ? Believe Photography ?

  • no i think you should just keep “stephen anthony” its more professional. the rest sounds generic.

  • Hey you are up late! lol wasnt expecting anyone to visit my new post till the morning! Esp. from the West Coast!

Hmmmm…..I am partial to your name because it is YOU! And you have a cool name! I think it says, Stable, Professional, Trustworthy and Personable.Amd it is cool to say.

I love… Just Believe…. because it tells me something about you…

Dream Drifter is really cool sounding but drifter says “not stable” to me.

Endless Photography is pretty cool too but ”endless” can  sometimes connotate a negative experience.

Eternal Light Photo doesnt roll off my tongue easily. I try to imagine having to answer the phone all day saying the name of my studio.lol!

These are just things to think about. I think any one of them would be great names but just wanted to give you my honest reaction to each one of them.

It is a fun job to pick a name that resonates with you! Have fun with it and if anything pops up in my mind I will be sure to jot them down for ya…

  • I agree stephen anthony sounds real professional and also it gives u that chance to use SA photography which is pretty cool I think. :coolman:

  • Stephen Anthony Photography sounds the most professional in my opinion. The others kind of sound like youre trying a bit too hard to sound cool. Sorry -_- stinkers *hugs*  But if I had to choose, I would pick dream drifter.

  • i really like the name. and very lovely picture steve!

  • I honestly prefer Stephen Anthony. It adds a bit of class. It even rolls off your tongue easier and whem I say it, it has UMPH! It’s strong and bold. Besides, it helps to market your name!
My second choice would be either dream drifter or maybe just believe.
Dream drifter is nice to say. It’s creative and spunky.
Just believe sounds like make-believe. I immediately thought of the “I BElieve” song from my sassy girl. It kinda downplays the professional side of things.
    those are just my opinions.

  • LOL!
take your time with the name, a name conveys waaaay too many things
so, decide wisely, and listen to your own advice, you do, after all know your circumstances better than anyone else…

RYC: Actually it was the most productive piece of text I found in the whole reader for one of my classes a couple of qtrs ago…

  • nice profile picture :goodjob:

  • mine right now is Katrina photography! ahahaha i cant think of anything. But i think i really like “just believe photography” :)

ohh and thanks for the comment sweety! :)

  • I agree with LightScripture…it utlimately is going to be with you for a long time so you want take your time and it needs to reflect you…but it is nice to get inspiration from other sources.

I know you will pick the right one for you!

    Kerri

  • it’s so beautiful! i like the picture on the top of your page as well…i know there’s a term for it, but i’m not that smart, hahaha.

as for the name…i have to agree with some of the other people that commented before. i like your name, haha, that sounds funny. but no, i think using your name sounds better. but whatever you choose, it’ll be great cuz your photos are becoming so fantastic! when did you start again?

    p/s.
have fun in indianapolis! stay warm :D

  • you know what? i like them both. haha you could combine em and make it steve believe! but seriously, i think stephen anthony is a straight shot and very professional. just believe sounds good and could ALSO be a testament to your faith.

  • steve believe! ahahah thats cute!

  • hey steve, how r u? i like just believe photography… it sounds very dreamy and magical, just like the pic.

ryc: those were self-shot pix for the catalog ads. that’s why most of them don’t look very professional! love your work, maybe u can shoot a few pix for me someday?

  • #4 sounds good!

  • Amen to Esther’s story! The photo is dreamy. Just Believe Photography makes people think, which I think is a good thing. It’s an intriguing name. Begs the question – just believe what?

  • Hi,

Here are my 2 cents worth. I love the sound of “Just Believe”, but I would drop photography and go with a tag line instead.

    Just Believe.

believe in capturing moments for a life time. You can’t go wrong with your name either. First decide how you want to brand yourself. If it’ you go with your name. If you hope to develop a brand and add other photographers and possibly sell the business, go with a name like Just Believe.

Any way thanks for stopping by our blog.

    Bob

  • sunny days are great!

  • Hi there! Hows it been going? Miss seeing you around.

  • Finding your portfolio/photographer name takes a long time. I didn’t have one for a while and finally came up with TK (teakei), now my new domain at teakei.com. Oh yeah and you can register the domain for $2 on Yahoo! Keep it short, simple, and catchy. Out of those choices I like “Just Believe” the most, but I tried to find something that represents my name so its kinda professional. Oh yeah I like the New Years show pics! are you shooting with the Rebel?

  • thanks man! get some new posts up!

  • hmmm, i gotta admit stephen anthony does sound better!!! nice photo. see you soon.

  • I agree with Robin and Kerri. I like your name but if you decide to chose one of the others…. just believe gets my vote! ~ Dawn :goodjob:

  • ahahah really! i say just stick with just believe!

  • Have a wounderful Wed.

                           Mickie

  • i love your banner.

  • random props.
    ..wow!

  • just awesome this is

  • thanks for the comment! that picture was taken in the Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon. I think any name is fine as long as it is easy to read and remember.
