  • Nathan & Jan

Where there is love there is life.   - Mahatma Gandhi

    Where o’
where is Steve?  Well I must say I’ve been
very preoccupied with interviews, work, traveling to the midwest for a close
friends wedding! =) Yes, I did say Wedding but before you jump all over this
post I’ll tell you before hand that I wasn’t a wedding photographer there nor
was I able to take many photos from the wedding day.  It’s a little
difficult to do that when you are in the wedding, haha.  Anyways, I was
honored and extremely joyed to be apart of their life and especially their
special wedding day.  Congratulations to Nathan & Jan Cole the
newlyweds! =)  Since the wedding was held in
Indianapolis, Indiana…it was indeed very cold.
During our stay there, Jan’s (Nathan’s Wife) friend Eugene opened his house to
us during out stay there and he was most hospitable and I’ve never felt so
welcomed and at home at any ones place especially meeting the guy for the first
time.  I felt as if I knew the guy for years and I felt so at ease and so
comfortable.  You know how there are times where you stay at someone place
and its just sort of a little uneasy, not that the person didn’t want you there
but as if you might be overstaying your visit sort of feeling.  Never the
less I was most grateful and humbled by his hospitality.  Keep Nate & Jan in your prayers as they went back to Laos and as they transition as a couple!  They have a long travel ahead of them as well as Nate’s family, pray for provision and that the Lord will sustain them!

    The wedding
    day was set on
March 3rd, 2007 and it was probably one of the most
at ease and joyful weddings I’ve been to, not that other weddings I’ve been to
weren’t.  There was just something special about this wedding.  Maybe
it was witnessing a close friend of mine marrying the woman of his dreams or
was it something more? The idea that God can draw people from all
sorts of location to one place was simply amazing.  Beyond the beauty of
the church and all the decorations and accents of a wedding what really caught
my eye was seeing how God draws amazing people together and binds them by the
love of two people into one big picture.  Drawing family from all over the
US and Laos.  Obviously I was from California but the wedding had family from Oregon, Indiana, Laos, Nebraska and I might be missing a couple
others but I was just stunned by the Unity of this day.  The Lord paves
amazing paths for people and I must say Nathan and Jan have taken that path of
faith and the Lord has definitely blessed them both and everyone in their
family.  What also strikes me is both wedding parties (bride and groom)
had only known each other about a week prior to the wedding and witnessing how
well everyone connected just blew me away.  It was as if they had known each other for quite sometime.  I remember during the wedding
rehearsal dinner where I saw Nate’s father and Jan’s father conversing on the stairway and it brought a smile to my face to see how the
Lord brings people together regardless of social economic backgrounds,
lifestyles, cultural background or whatever differences there might be.

    On top of
all that Nathan got all the grooms men some wild gifts and if I feel daring
enough I’ll post a pic of it later but some of you might freak out haha.
I happen to love the gift and its probably the craziest gift I’ve ever received
from anyone.  But thats Nathan for you.  Junshien, delivered a
awesome toast at the wedding, I was so proud of him! =) woohoo!

    Sadly, I
    don’t have any pictures of
Indianapolis because I didn’t have much of an
opportunity to explore the city itself.  From my observations though, it’s
very flat (hahah) and the homes there are very different in terms of architecture from
California or any place I’ve been to on the
west coast.  But I like it, honestly I wish I could give it more credit
    other than the
Indianapolis 500, Butler College or The Colts but thats all I really know about the state! haha.  Would I go back, sure why not! =)  O and the snow is beautiful there during this time of the year.  After the wedding reception, it snowed and it had to be one of the most elegant and beautiful snow falls I’ve seen.  It was like a scene from a movie as you look out the window to see the snow gently fall to the ground!

This weekend is the Scott Robert Mentor and Photo Workshop, I am stoked!

    I Corinthians 13
    Love is
    patient;  love is kind.
Love is not envious or boastful or
    arrogant or rude.
    It does not insist on its own way: it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice in wrong doing, but rejoices in truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all
    things.
And now faith, hope, and love abide,
and the greatest of these is love.
