  • Pebble Beach, CA

Another quick update.  This past weekend I headed down to Pebble Beach with some good ol’ friends from college and we had a blast.  I swear we are all normal. hahahhaha  I couldn’t resist after Junshien’s post.  I was going to keep this post pretty plain(for lack of a better word) but I couldn’t resist haha.  Sometimes I swear we are 10 year old stuck in 24 year old bodies, haha.  Anyways, a much needed R&R for all of us.  It was really nice to get away from computers, internet, phone calls or masses of people.  I was going to say my camera but it would be a crime not to bring it to Pebble Beach! =)  Anyways, snapped a few shots here and there.  Stopped at Bird Rock, Lone Cypress and a few other prime locations.  I swear ever area we went to whether the beach house or in downtown Carmel we had to do a odd photo there haha.  I’m still laughing at most of these pics and this picture above of Esther jumping off the steps just cracks me up because of her expression.  I have no idea what she is doing but its funny.  Anyways, I hope you all have a awesome week.

Stay tuned for more photos from Cindy & Arthur’s Wedding…

p.s. – who wants to go see Ocean 13 with me this weekend?

To the Canon DSLR users…what setting do you use most often…Av or M?

    Thanks for reading – Steve

  • Hey, sorry I didn’t get to reply to your comment sooner, but I’ve been really busy! Haha, I know partying gets old…that’s why it’s a good thing I don’t do it too often :P  I like your new photos; landscape artwork has always been a favorite of mine, but the mid-air pool table shots made me smile. :)

  • hey steve

    i didnt get your comment

  • ahhah graet photos steve. i love that first one! love the colors! spending time with great friends is PRICELESS! gotta live for moments like that. =D

  • good photos there man. you make me wish i had a “shooting buddy”… lol, i gotta find some more photographers to hang out w/.

  • hey stephen! the link wasn’t working before because i hadn’t transferred the file to my new server. but it should work now. give it a try.

  • love your post processing!! your photos are getting better and better!! you need to find a way to get to my 4 day, I know I can take you to the NEXT LEVEL!

  • love the fourth shot! the red roof adds a nice punch.
and i always use M, hardly ever use AV. =)

  • I love the fourth one.

  • great contrast in the first photo.

    (Av)

  • ryc: it’s not the photo quality i’m complaining about (maybe I got a really good copy because junshien said he couldnt get good photos either), but the build quality. The photos look good, but the lens is not built to last – kinda like the “ikea” of the photographic world ;)

Hey, aren’t you supposed to send me a portfolio? I actually don’t need a portfolio, just tell me a bit of who you are and what you do.

P.S. I really like this round of photos. very clean compositions and colors

  • These remind me of SF with the beaches and cypress trees! I just love these…Stephen as I look at these again…you are amazing me!

Love your creativity on the ninja ones! That one guy really got air! The other one in mid air …wow…

    K

  • Stephen, no I have not tried photomatrix, but now that you mention it I will look into it. I’m not a big fan of true “HDR” images that CS2 and CS3 create, because I always have moving things in my photos and they completely screw up the HDR converter. Right now I don’t need more than two exposures and a bit of finesse with Photoshop layer masking, to get the high dynamic range images that I sometimes shoot…

Take care and thanks for commenting! I wish I lived up there with you and Junshien, I’d love to join in your amazing photo adventures!!!

    -Matt-

  • if you don’t mind me asking … how was the 7th pic taken ?

  • Awesome work yourself…

They’re pulling the blinds up while she’s waiting for portraits. :]

  • wow!! im actually shooting a wedding at Pebble Beach tomorrow!!! haha! Good stuff!! to answer your question, ive been shooting more with manuel lately; however, when i dont have time to switch settings all the time i sometimes shoot Tv, Av, or even P, depending on the situation, paid or unpaid, etc…

btw, are all the xanga photographers getting together sometime soon? if not, lets try to hang out sometime — if anything i can set up a photoshoot for us to do… keep up the great work! =D

To the Canon DSLR users…what setting do you use most often…Av or M? – I use Av when there’s good light or shooting fixed, M for landscape and flash, and Tv for fill flash.

    Oceans 13 was entertaining.

  • You have amazing photos..

  • Av.

    M with flash.

    Fun photos
