Happy 4th
Happy 4th of July to all you beautiful people! =) This was my first attempt at some firework long exposure shots! It’s a lot harder than I thought. So I started off with a wide angle lens in hopes to get some clear shots along with whats going on around it but the air display was shot so low it was difficult to get some nice sky shots. It didn’t help where I was standing either a little too far way but had no choice since the park was flooded with crowds of people. Anyways, I ended up switching to a longer focus lens and that worked out a little better since I was somewhat far away. No spectacular fireworks high in the sky over water. Boy Id imagine that would be beautiful. Most of these shots were shot between f/8 – f/16 @ ISO 100. I played with different shutter speeds to try and grab the right amount of exposure and this is what I got. Composition isn’t all that great but the colors came out beautiful! =) Enjoy and hope you all had a safe and marvelous 4th.
I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!!!

Awesome shots as usual Steve! And the 5D is treating me well. Full frame sexiness.

Fireworks pictures are my nemesis. Well… that sounds quite dramatic… I guess they’re not that bad. They’re just not phenomenal yet and that bugs me! Rrr…
What are your settings? I mean, you said ISO 100 and f/8 – f/16 but how many seconds?
abby
posted my set. I still may re-edit a few shots to clone out some unwanted smoke or reflections – but its up now.
great fireworks! where did you watch them?
Sweet! I took similar ones last year when I still had my DSLR.
Hey steve!1
ryc: i use both the 2 flashes off camera. one with the GF diffuser which was pointed to the right side of the model and one pointed at the rim of the NSX. I really liked how the pic came out. and oh yea i do have full car pics. one of them is a g35.
hope ya had a great july 4th… cool pics!
hey bro, nice firework photos!!! i ended up lighting fireworks in my backyard w/ my family.
i should of used a lower ISO setting since most of my photos came out pretty grainy– but then again i was handholding everything haha. hope you’re well steve.
RYC: after you, my friend!

Hey Wasabi twin!

Yeah. i should seriously update my xanga more often. Looks like you are doing well especially with your saphoto!! haha.
Yeah man, I haven’t talked to you for ages!
i’m doing fine man! So many things happened! trying to relax for the summer!
msg me when you see me online and we can chat it up like old times!
ryc: they were roman candles that my friend was shooting. the big ones in the sky were from people down the street. i didnt get a chance to go out and see real fireworks this year, but next year i plan on it!
